PRIDE ALIVE!
*
About 20 Wisconsin Marriage Defenders met at Joannes Park in Green Bay, WI, to protest/witness at the 2nd annual sodomite "Pride Alive" family (sic) picnic event.
We recruited heavily from Green Bay area churches, but still 75% of the crowd was from Oshkosh.
Soon after arriving, I heard one of the Pride Alive leaders giving an interview to the Green Bay Press Gazette. He must have been asked who we were because he answered, "Those guys are from Oshkosh, some Baptist church".
While we were glad that they recognized us and associate opposition to sodomy with our group, we were disgusted at the same time that they did not associate anti-sodomy with any group or church from Green Bay, Milwaukee, or elsewhere. We should not have to be rowing this boat alone - especially in other cities.
Another leader of the sodomite event came out to thank us for being there (would to God we were getting thanked by Christians, but apparently most Christians are more effeminate than the queers). He said, "I don't agree with your views, but I support your right to voice them. When you guys come out, we know we've made the big time."
While it's quite an honor to know that the sodomites now use us as a measuring stick and status symbol, it is pathetic that other Wisconsin fundamental Baptist churches are so apathetic, to the point that sodomites connect standing against sodomy all over the state with us alone. We do thank Grace Baptist Church of Appleton, WI and Pastor Randy Graham for having some people stand with us at a couple of our events, including this one, but we will not have to spend a lot of money on thank you cards for anyone else.
We did get to have plenty of conversations and opportunities to give the gospel. We received the expected catcalls, middle fingers, and insults. The news media got some footage of us and our signs. Dick Ives gave a TREMENDOUS interview for the WFRV news. They might only air a clip from it, but Bro. Ives did a SUPERB job of giving the gospel and truth about sodomy with grace and love. Then he witnessed to the reporter at length.
A Spanish speaking man from the Honduras brought his three boys into the park, unaware that the queers were having their picnic. He came out, white as a ghost, with his boys a few minutes later, and although speaking Spanish, we KNEW what he was saying to them about what they had just witnessed. Al Doyle knows enough Spanish to converse and spoke to the man. Once he found out we were in opposition to the queers, he wanted us to explain it to his kids (who spoke English).
Gary Warinner gets kudos for being a bold witness to several people throughout the day. Several, if not all of us, got chances to speak to them on behalf of righteousness and the Lord.
We left before evening, figuring that later we'd encounter more drunks and loudmouths. The action might have gotten hotter, but less fruitful (in the biblical usage of the term).

To the Osh-boro Baptist Church - there were only 6 (six) of you there holding up placards. That includes the young man who, based on his bad language and apathetic demeanor, didn't seem to want to be there. If you want others to actually take you seriously, try relying on the TRUTH, not exaggerations. I doubt you will have the courage to actually approve my comment. God bless you, and may he direct you to not only read but UNDERSTAND what is in the Bible.

Wow, sodomites certainly can't count.
When I arrived at 11:15 there were 15 already there. Perhaps a half-dozen came later.
Almost all of us had signs. I brought four myself.
If I can get a photo from our photographer, I'll post it here and show what a liar you are.
BTW, we have nothing in common with Westboro Baptist.

Lol, I was there...probably in one of your photos. If you don't know what I'm talking about, I doubt you yourself were even there. God bless.

I was on the WFRV news that night. So there's incontrovertable proof I was there and that you are talking out of the wrong end.

So you're saying WFRV was somewhere in front of Joannes Park, and they filmed your 20 or 15 or whatever protesters? The only media I saw there was a gentleman from the Press-Gazette and a photographer, carrying a press pass, snapping pics from the synagogue parking lot. Strangely, with ALL this media attention to your cause, all you really have is a brief interview. Funny, and I thought I overheard one of your folks saying you "went" over to channel 5 to do the interview. But what am I thinking...the truth is irrelevant to your wanna-be organization. Blessings.

You can't even keep up with your own lies. I said I got on the WFRV news, not all of us.
The reporter spent more time in the park than out. Most of his footage was covering you guys. And you still missed him.
The guy from the Green Bay Press Gazette got a brief comment from one of us and a photo or two that they didn't run.
Nobody "went" over to channel 5. You are making up things.
I think we are seeing the results of AIDS dementia here. Better go see your doctor Mark.

It is such a shame to see people like yourselves distorting the true message of the Bible to assuage your own insecurities and fears. A true Christian would embrace ALL others and not call fellow humans "sodomites", but recognize they are sinners the same and equal as each and every one of us, INCLUDING YOU.

Who says a true Christian should embrace all others? The word of God tells us just the opposite:
1 Cor 5:11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
Eph 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
Also, "sodomites" is the term God uses for homosexuals, so your argument is with Him, not me.
Deut 23:17 There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.
