In what is likely a Canadian first for a major political party, the Liberal Party of Canada is proposing lowering the age of consent for "anal intercourse" in their publicly-released book of policy resolutions.
Sexual health experts have warned that anal intercourse is a recklessly dangerous activity which is the "riskiest form of sexual activity when it comes to the transmission of HIV/AIDS" (see coverage: http://www.lifesite.net/ldn/2006/feb/06021403.html)
Nevertheless, a Liberal Party policy resolution, attributed to the British Columbia branch of the Party, calls for lowering the age of consent for such activity to 14-years of age. Policy no. 45 reads: "WHEREAS the current law discriminates against unmarried same-sex couples by not permitting unmarried persons under 18 to legally engage in consensual anal intercourse; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Liberal Party of Canada urge the Federal Government of Canada to bring the age of consent for anal intercourse in equal pairing with other forms of sexual activity." The age of sexual consent for heterosexual intercourse in Canada is 14.
Resolution no. 46 calls for a review of the criminal code on prostitution with a view to legalizing the exploitive practice.

Another thing I don't get...People say that strippers and prostitutes are being exploited. That may be true for some, who don't really have any other way to get money, but otherwise they do it of their own free will.
Who's really being exploited? The women that dance naked/sleep with guys or the guys that pay craploads of hard-earned money for these things?
Not saying that women SHOULD be prostitutes or strippers, or that it's ok, just saying that they really aren't as horribly exploited as people seem to think...

Once again, you have distorted the facts of "homosexuality and pedophilia." Either that, or you have extrememly poor reading comprehension. Some gay Canadian activists are asking that the age of consent for anal sex be the same as the age of consent for all other sexual practices. For example, a 16 year old who engages in anal sex should not be punished more severely than one who engages in vaginal intercourse or oral sex.
I realize that you probably don't engage in any of these activities, but there are some people out here who enjoy themselves in ways other than the missionary position between a husband and a wife for the purpose of procreation. Which would explain why you seem so fixated on ways that other consenting adults are having fun with each other.
No one, here or in Canada, is supporting legalizing sex between childen and adults. That you continue to draw that conclusion shows how alarmed people in your famiy should be.
